WHAT MEMBERSHIPS DOES LOS AL ATHLETICS CURRENTLY OFFER? WHAT’S THE PRICING?
Our standard introductory rate is 3 Months for $300, available to all first-time members. This includes three one-on-one training sessions with a coach.
After your first 90 days expires, you can roll into our month-to-month plan. Check out our packages and pricing to see rates, including student, couples, and military/police/fire discounts.
WHEN ARE CLASSES? CAN I JUST SHOW UP?
View our class calendar on our website to make sure at least a few of our regular WODs fit in with your regular life. Then schedule your free trial class and we’ll meet you 10 minutes ahead of time to discuss your fitness goals, and to prep you for the upcoming workout.
CAN I SCHEDULE A PRIVATE TRAINING SESSION?
Absolutely. Existing athletes and new athletes can both benefit from the focused attention private training affords. Just email us directly to book your session with one of our great coaches. We also offer packaged deals at a discounted rate.
I’M NO ATHLETE – IS CROSSFIT FOR ME?
Your current level of fitness matters little when it comes to enjoying and benefiting from CrossFit. CrossFit is for people interested in improving their health and fitness in a very real way. The workouts keep you guessing but also build on skills you learn throughout the program, and the variety and complexity tend to keep both mind and body challenged and stimulated. Just remember … its not about where you start, its about getting started.
I’M A SERIOUS ATHLETE – IS CROSSFIT FOR ME?
CrossFit engages the interests and obsessions of elite athletes around the world with its dynamism and efficacy. From wrestlers to weightlifters, runners to swimmers to bikers, countless athletic communities have adopted CrossFit workouts and principles on their paths to greater fitness and achievement. If you are currently an athlete competing within another sport, we can also help you with some modifications to our program to benefit you within your sport.
I LOVE COMPETITION – IS CROSSFIT FOR ME?
Many a competitive streak has been amplified and satiated by the CrossFit world and its inherent drive toward improvement. But the real goal is competition with oneself more than with each other. That said, it can be very handy to keep one eye on a similar peer’s time and accomplishments to keep you focused and pushing.
I HAVE AN INJURY – IS CROSSFIT FOR ME?
To be honest, most likely. CrossFit is universally scalable and can accommodate – or even improve – almost any type of injury. CrossFit trainers around the world have watched countless members and clients self-correct long-term ailments by paying attention to form and fitness in this new way. You should definitely contact us and take some time to discuss your physical issues with our trainers, but do not rule out the program based on injuries, new or old. CrossFit Los Alamitos could very well be the best thing to enhance the healing process.
I HATE COMPETITION, SHOULD I EVEN TRY IT?
Yes, do. What’s great about CrossFit is that everyone really is focused on their own goals, and if you are not interested in competition, everyone else can fade away into the background. The CrossFit Los Alamitos community is especially supportive, and while we do aim to stretch your limits for your own sake, we also know that not everyone wants to be the best at everything or to be judged constantly. It’s a great place and program for doing your own thing and advancing at your own pace, with motivational nudges along the way.
I ALREADY LOVE YOGA/PILATES/SPINNING – WHY SHOULD I TRY CROSSFIT?
Why not? CrossFit has augmented the workout regimens of even the most contented fitness fiends for the last decade. Improving one’s strength and agility while providing a new challenge and platform often makes for a winning addition to one’s workout week. That said, if you don’t fall in love with CrossFit enough to hit 2-6 WODs per week, you may want to bow out because both physical progress and retention of movements and form will suffer significantly with sporadic visits.
UM, THEN, WHO SHOULDN’T TRY CROSSFIT?
We think everyone should try it – again, why not? But if your ideal sweat session is plugging into your iPod and being left alone on the treadmill, or leisurely working the circuit machines at the gym on a daily basis, CrossFit Los Alamitos may not be your cup of tea. The anonymity and predictability of globo-gyms definitely has its appeal for a lot of folk, and you will not find either at CrossFit Los Alamitos. We engage you and motivate you, and more importantly, get to know you, along with your strengths and weaknesses and how to challenge you and your body more and better every time we meet.
